Turn, Turn, The King Turns The Bush Warbler Can't Keep Up
Run, Run, The Bush Warbler Runs. But It Can't Catch Up.
Down, Down, The Bush Warbler Falls Down
Roll, Roll, The Warbler Rolls Down
Those words echoed in her head like the chimes that hung outside the merchant's cart. The young girl stood silently, her Bo staff fastened to her back securely, so no one would steal it in the busy city capital. The streets where filled with farmers from surrounded villages attempting to sell their produce, meet, fish, and poultry.
Aoi turned her head as two children ran up to her, bumping into her slightly before running off in a game of tag. She quickly checked her pockets to make sure they hadn't stolen anything, and they didn't, which was obvious.
As sure as she was about the head band resting in her bag, was that the children would never target people who they knew would be able to find them. The kids where smart, maybe not scholar material, but smart enough to survive, and in the world they where living in, that was all that was important.
With a gentle swoop she picked up a small peach from one of the merchants stands and placed it in her pocket, reaching out with her other hand and handing the old man a small bag of tea. It was the art of trade, after all, Aoi couldn't afford to be spending Ryo with her debts to the local gangs. Even if she could defeat them all quickly, that would be to violent, and it would most likely be something her brother would frown upon.
So as she walked through the once again crowded streets, wondering when the people would tire of their existence as the petty market people of Nichinan, she took the peach from her pocket and squeezed it slightly in her hands before handing to another vendor and retrieving a small pack of bandages in return.
This was her goal, the art of trading was a tricky one. You had to be able to know what each person wanted and how to get that by using what you had. Eventually it all evened out and you got what you desired. That's how life worked, some times. Aoi mused over these thoughts as she continued on her way down the crowded streets.

Miyu had finally reached her destination in hopes of selling her crops. Her farm mainly had vegetables since most fruit came from trees and her fruit trees were still saplings, the vegetables didn't have such an issue. She was exhausted by the time she entered the city since she walked the whole way, but she would not dare complain. People endured far worse than her, they always did. Miyu would sell as much as she could, collect her earnings, and head back towards her home, children, and brother.
She found an area to begin selling in then proceeded with making her goods more appealing by washing them each one more time with the extra water she brought that was lingering on her dainty waist. Her black hair fell in front of her deep, large, sapphire eyes as she bent forward to carefully clean her vegetables. People felt more attracted to clean food, didn't they? So she felt she had to clean them.
BAM! Tomatoes splatted on bottom, someone bumped her while they were walking and knocked her into another vendor's merchandise. Immediately she jumped up, once she felt the wet tomatoes under her, and bowed continuously. Miyu flinched as he yelled. He insulted her, how he lost money, etc. She grabbed tomatoes from her wagon and placed them where she landed, apologizing as she did so.
"S-sorry... here... I... I... I'm so sorry..." she mumbled. Miyu's hands trembled, her lips quivered, and she stepped away from the man to avoid anymore accidents.
"You better be sorry!" he hissed.

As she walked through the streets, watching the incoming merchants and farmers. She stopped as she noticed a traveling acrobatic group had set up and where preforming. They where flying through the air in dazzling speeds, their outfits where simple, but entrancing all the same. Aoi knew they must have trained for hours upon days to get to the point they where at now.
She turned as she noticed quit an interesting scene down the street involving a small dainty vendor and a rather large unruly man. Apparently the small woman had knocked down several tomatoes. It was sad, the man had plenty of Tomatoes left, and he had already sold plenty, and the woman had just arrived, and had not sold anything.
Aoi couldn't stand it, she took a step foreword, then another, making her way to wards the large man. The fourteen year old small girl watched as the woman began to shovel tomatoes onto his cart. She took a step foreword until she was only five yards away from the man. In a fluid movement she unlatched her Bo staff and was in front of the man.
The Bo staff was at his neck. '' Now don't you think you're going a little over board over some rotten tomatoes? '' she asked as she looked down the rather brown tomatoes he had been trying to sell. '' If you ask me, she did you a favor, spilling over all those tomatoes, they look like their a breading ground for worms ''.

Miyu panicked when the girl suddenly came up and defended her, it was something she wasn't used to seeing. Sure, her children defended her against her brother but this was different. A complete stranger was helping her over something as meaningless as tomatoes though she was right, her tomatoes were far better. Miyu wouldn't admit any of this out loud though. Her fingers trembled as she took a couple steps back from the scene, all most landing in her own cart. She wasn't sure was to do.
"Rotten? My tomatoes are anything but rotten! This woman needs to watch where she's going and you need to learn where you stand." He sneered, pushing the staff away from his neck as he took a few steps back. "I am not losing money because she decided to land in my merchandise. I don't care how long I have been out here compared to her. She should have gotten here earlier then!"
Miyu nodded as he said this, she truly felt it was her fault. She was the one who landed in his tomatoes. If he had landed in her tomatoes then she would have been upset too. Then again... she wouldn't have barked at him. Miyu would have helped him up and told him it was all right, if he had apologized, knowing him he wouldn't, then returned to selling. Sure, she would make less money but was it that big of a deal?
"Y-you.. don't have... t...to... h...help.." Miyu stammered. Speaking was not her strong point. Not that she couldn't speak, she was just extremely shy.

Finding his way through this city was beginning to be a pain for the lone wolf. His life had been full of hardships and now that he was a mere immigrant to these parts laid his head on the line for a mere bounty. Why would one want to do that? It never occurred to him why people would merely cut down another for money. Though his life he sought out strength to cut down those who abused their skills by beating upon the people that he knew and loved. Those gangs had been the last straw for Tatsu. His gain was merely to find a way to show the world that war between each other wasn't the answer though few would believe that from his words.
Dreadlocks falling from his head to his shoulders, as his white hakama was a quick indication that perhaps he wasn't the only person who adored the culture amongst this land. He was raised by people other than his own race, but those had long past due to the gang wars that happened amongst his hometown. He dared not try to remember those nights as they brought on the vicious reality of how humans can truly be. Banishing himself from remembering the name of that god forsaken town and to a peaceful life on the road. He was out to learn new moves and so forth to obtain a better goal for himself and his children of the future.
Ambling forth, he noticed two females ahead of him one that was in fear and the other who had begun to dispatch a preying male. Such a utter disgrace to his gender. Shaking his head in disbelief, he would pass by the two and stopped for a minor second watching how her work was almost as fast as his. He would nod in approval of what was going on, merely to show that it was not of his concern. Though he wondered how the others would react to him appearing amongst their position and doing so without them recognizing his presence till he was among them in general. Neither did it matter nor bother the Lone Wolf it was merely him passing through, but he chose to leave her with some words towards both of them.
"That was some great work you displayed. Be careful though there are people who will kill you merely because of your skills."

She trembled at the sight of the new man that came towards them. So many people around her was starting to cause Miyu to panic, the crowd closing in only made it worse. "I.. I..." the woman stuttered as she took a few steps back to get away from the people around her. Sure, she was used to the market place, what farmer wasn't?, but her customers were always on the other side of her wagon; away from her. One could say Miyu had her own personal bubble and she liked it that way, but it wasn't that she didn't like people; they terrified her. She felt she was doing something wrong no matter what task she was performing and that someone would attack her for it, just like the farmer with the rotten tomatoes would have if the other girl hadn't jumped in. But what if he attacked her instead? It would be entirely Miyu's fault; at least she saw it that way.
The new man stood there for a bit and said nothing. He nodded but Miyu didn't quite understand what his nod meant. Didn't a nod usually mean yes? She rarely left her family and it was even less common for her to speak to strangers thus she had no reason to understand what such a physical motion would mean, none of her family did it. Miyu cocked her head to the side before she remembered the situation at hand. The man was still enraged about his tomatoes but the girl was defending her so well. Would she be off the hook? She let out a sigh.
Then a couple of people came up to her wagon and pointed at her vegetables. "These are your vegetables?"
"Why... y-yes. They are mine."
"Wow! They look delicious! Can I buy some? I hope they are for sale." It was as if the yelling man meant nothing.
"Y-yes.. of course." She smiled slightly, still startled by the situation. That was when the new man spoke. "K-kill...? B..Because of my skills?" Miyu looked in the direction of the man but refused to look him in the eye. "I.. I... g...guess... I... I... w...won't die then..." Her middle finger moved slowly and cautiously on the side of her head to push loose hair behind her ears. "I... I don't... h... have any... sk... skills..."

The immigrants eyes would lock on the girl for a mere moment as she seemed to be under shock by his words. He guessed he did in fact be a bit too harsh with the young lady after all she didn't ask for what was happening around her. With that said, the lady would eventually realize that same presence about her now, looking down at her with a smile. He didn't meant to put her in a state of shock, but merely was going to handle the situation himself. Walking over toward her, he would lean over and place his hands upon her face, cupping her chin gazing into her eyes. Words would flow freely from the young man's mouth.
"Don't worry...If you need someone besides this lovely lady to aid you and protect one such as beautiful as yourself. I will be willing to lend you my blade and myself. Do we have a deal?"
With that said the young man would surely wonder if she thought of his skills with a blade were merely a joke, but he didn't want to flash them around in public without no reason behind it. Bound by no code of honor what so ever, but a strong sense of fighting pride, he knew he could hold his end up within this world filled of sin. Time to purge those sins would obviously be occurring soon, but when that time would beckons to him soon.

The trade was brief as she handed her tomatoes to the customers and receive the money in return. That was the advantage of this situation, it was easier to sell. Of course Miyu would see the better side of being yelled at and threatened, causing a commotion, and bothering strangers. Maybe she could buy Alaister new pants. Working in the fields with her was tearing them a part. Then again... wouldn't it be cheaper to buy thread?
The customers left with smile brimming across their face and that's when the strange man grabbed her face. He didn't mean to do harm, she knew this, but her eyes widened and her body froze nonetheless. She listened intently to his words, she felt she had no other choice, and trembled at the word "blade". It only startled her for a couple minutes before she realized all of what he said. Did he... just say... I was beautiful? Only her mother had every told her that and maybe her kids but she never felt they were telling the truth. They could easily be lying to make her happy, she was family and they loved her. But this man was a stranger. Why would he say something like that? Miyu nodded before she comprehended much of what she was doing.
"Y...You.. d... don't have to... f... fight..." she stammered once she realized what he was implying. If someone offered their blade they expected a fight. "It... it's my fault.. r... really..." Miyu smiled softly and bowed slightly. "B..b... but... th...thank... y... you."

There was when the known immigrant eyes would avert towards hers gazing within them. He would merely bring his hand along her cheek and a peaceful smile was all that was emitted off of his face. That was when the young black man's words would flow with his dreads that were swaying in the breeze and the aftermath that had occurred from the female who was about to slay the man. It was a simple reason why she didn't want his sword, but there was something bout her that he would allow her to know and that was.....
"It's not so as do you need my sword...I want to protect you and your children. Also show them the world outside of this place, because the world can be a harsh place everywhere. Maybe a outside view of all things would work in finding a peaceful home as I am seeking out myself," mused the young warrior known as Tatsu. He was merely being the honorable man, but he wasn't sure how she took it hopefully she would really take into consideration of his way of doing things. There the one known as Tatsu would give her a comforting smile and lean towards her placing a kiss upon her forehead. With his lips parting from her brow, there would be a small whisper that would send chills down her spine..."Don't worry I won't let anything happen to you...Trust me."

Miyu tilted her head to he side as a wave of confusion hit her hard. All of his actions didn't make sense to her. Maybe if he was female but he was clearly male. Every man in her life was cruel to her, excluding her son who was far too young to be considered a man anyway. She had no idea why this man cared; she was just a merchant, nothing special. Her face was as red as her ripe tomatoes and appeared more crimson contrasting against the black depths that was her hair.
Shivers were sent down her spine and she shuddered. Miyu attempted to take a step back but there was no where to go. His offer still scared her. Was he really going to harm someone for her sake? She shook her head. "N-no v...v... violence is necessary..." she gulped.
"My children..?" she blinked and stared up at him. "H... h... how d-d-do you know about my... children?" Miyu rarely ever brought her children to the market place and even then she didn't announce they were hers. She tried her best to keep them silent to not alert people of them.
The black man's words seemingly struck a chord in her, but he knew it was no reason for him to even attempt to help her anymore. Swiftly turning away and walking from the store, he didn't mutter anything else. Just decided to go off and head to a new place. Thus was the life of one who was constantly hunted for his kin. He was a mere black man that had been living within the confinements of the Japan area, but mostly out for revenge upon the following who had killed off his parents. He was a loner...
"Then don't worry bout it. I shall take my leave," stated the warrior as he would swiftly continue away from the small shop. He offered his help and wasn't going to force himself upon her. If things happened to her it was her fault and not his own. That was the way he lived and would continue to live that way.
